CCAmericas Announces the Initial Lineup of the International Literature Festival - Houston 2017
Casa Cultural de las Americas is excited to announce the initial lineup of the International Literature Festival - Houston 2017.
The two-day event returns to the University of Houston, November 2 – November 3, 2017 and will once again be a FREE event thanks to the outpouring of generous support from our sponsors. These organizations contribute with the sole intention of supporting the International Literature Festival.

Every year, this event continues to grow attracting top tier American and Latin American poets to our city.
The invited countries for 2017: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico,
Nicaragua, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.
1. Argentina: Diana Bellessi
2. Bolivia: Matilde Casazola
3. Colombia: Andrea Cote Botero
4. Ecuador: Ana Cecilia Blum
5. Ecuador: Siomara España
5. Mexico: Jeannette Lozano
6. Spain: Veronica Aranda
7. United States: Deborah Mouton
8. United States: Fareena Arefeen
9. Uruguay: Ida Vitale
10. Venezuela: Soledad Bravo
The International and local poets use their own elements and passion to express their poetry provoking reviews such as:
"The poetry of Andrea Cote is the poetry of someone who declares in her words the will to establish her own poetical language, through a personal imagery capable of maintaining the poetical search as a means of knowing and understanding the world"
"Diana Bellessi is a casually sensuous poet of adventure and passion"
"Deborah Mouton, the new Poet Laureate, shows us the road to honesty and confrontation, paved with pencils."
These are just a snippets of some of the most incredible poets on this year's lineup who you can't afford to miss, regardless of what genre you love the most.
