We are very proud to announce that our CCA Chairman and Poet Elizabeth Quila presented her latest book, Oblivion, published by the Argentinean publisher “El Suri Porfiado” in Quito, Ecuador this past week as well as her novels, “El pueblo de los ahogados” and “El amante despiadado.”
For Ecuadorian Poet Ivan Oñate, the verse of Dr. Quila has crossed repressive barriers of language and has managed to penetrate the sacred domains of silence.
The qualities that make Elizabeth Quila a great poet are not easy to inculcate or duplicate. However, Casa Cultural de las Americas has adopted her standard of excellence to strive for, and guide others in their efforts to become better poets and literature lovers.
“No student ever attains very eminent success by simply doing what is required of him: it is the amount and excellence of what is over and above the required, which determines the greatness of ultimate distinction.” Charles Kendall Adams
